FULL IMMERSION TRAINING

Designed for those who are new to the yachting industry.

Four and an half-day onboard: Monday to Friday morning.
Participants: Min 4.
Price: € 1.500,00 including taxes, VAT exempt (including board and abode).

Yacht Academy FULL IMMERSION TRAINING, specially designed to teach all the skills and responsibilities required by interior crewmembers, will be carried out at our premises and it will include stages onboard a luxury motor yacht, onboard an ancient sailing vessel and other motor or sailing yachts, located at the port of Genoa, so as to give participants the opportunity to become familiar with different kinds of  pleasure boats. Half-day out onboard a motor boat will be organized to the extent of learning manoeuvres, such as mooring and anchoring, and broadly all on deck duties usually covered by interior crewmembers.

Participants will live the reality of onboard life, thus immediately getting to grips with this kind of work, as though they were really part of a crew.
They will carry out working assignments involved with daily duties and demands faced by onboard stewards and stewardesses.
Paperwork templates such as inventory lists and illustrative slides will be utilised during the theory lectures at our premises.
External teachers will hold an additional course to target the flower arranging and care of plants.

An attendance certificate will be handed at the end of the course, after the theory and practice examinations will have been undertaken by the candidates.

Course participants’ will have the opportunity of having their data entered into our database, to the extent of researching and offering positions onboard sailing or motor yachts.

Introduction – Personal grooming – Etiquette: how to address yacht Owners and Guests – Onboard life – Role of the interior Crew – Typical working day, with and without Owners onboard  – Buffet setup – Table setting – Silver Service techniques – Napkin folding – Wine service – Daily cleaning of premises: products to be utilised, how, when and where – Laundry procedures – Wardrobe handling – Household Appliances – Organisation of caboose – Unexpected event handling – Interiors and deck cleaning of sailing and motor yachts – Safety at sea: basic learning of manoeuvres, anchoring, mooring and unmooring – Theoretical and practical test of an individual’s general autonomy.
